London Calling: The Clash In The Capital

Regular price £12.00
PRE-ORDER: SHIPS 17 MARCH

This fold-out guide charts The Clash through the city that shaped them. Spanning 130 locations across London, it traces where the band members were born, lived, rehearsed, recorded and performed – from early pub rock venues to the clubs that defined London punk.

The guide also follows the story beyond the original band, encompassing later projects including Big Audio Dynamite, Latino Rockabilly War, The Mescaleros, Carbon/Silicon and The Good, The Bad & The Queen.

Written by pop culture historian Paul Gorman and designed by Scott Sugiuchi, it shows how a group with global reach – drawing on reggae, rockabilly and sounds from across the world – remained rooted in their home city. North, south, east and west, London fed directly into the band's sound, politics and lyrics. The narrative runs from the members' births through to the present day, including a stop at Mick Jones' Rock and Roll Public Library.

A detailed, street-level portrait of a band that conquered the world without ever leaving home.

In the package

This first print run includes an exclusive A6 die-cut stencil card – cut on heavy stock using a bespoke die made for this edition, reproducing the London Calling from the guide’s cover so you can spray your own version. Once the first run sells out, the stencil will not be available again.

There's also the option to add a square 148x148mm art card at checkout. Featuring the artwork from the inner folder, printed on substantial 350gsm stock. It's produced in very limited quantities and makes a handsome companion piece to the guide.
