Death, disease, disfigurement and associated matters are the subjects of scrutiny at this new museum, funded in part by a Kickstarter campaign. It occupies a substantial corner site on a busy intersection, the exterior painted a funereal black. On the ground floor is the museum shop and a diminutive outpost of Black Gold, a local café and record store who have a few bins of LPs for sale. The museum, on the floor below, is beautiful and ghoulish, frequently at the same time, comprising wax anatomical models, taxidermy, paintings and photographs. In addition there are temporary exhibitions that bring to light rarely seen private and public collections, and lectures several nights a week.
