It’s easy to overlook the Geffrye Museums gardens. Accessed via a small stone staircase, a path leads past the tiny Ironmongers graveyard to the walled herb garden, where herbs are grouped by usage medicinal, culinary, aromatic and so on. The period gardens are arranged in much the same way as the museum itself 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century with benches to rest on and enjoy the space. Each garden has plenty to see and to smell – in a very different way to the rest of Kingsland Road.
